A home is more than a project.

After nearly 25 years in the homebuilding industry, I’ve come to understand that major renovations or building a new home are more complex and more demanding than anyone expects going in. What changes the experience is having the right person alongside you.

I didn’t arrive at this work in a straight line. It came together through experiences that built on one another, each one deepening how I understand these projects and, together, shaping the perspective I bring today.

I began my career as an interior designer. For years, my work was to help shape a vision and bring it to life, documenting it in detail, and collaborating with the people in the field who were building it. That’s where I learned how a design truly translates into a built environment, and just how much the details matter.

From there, I moved into leadership, running design operations and working closely with the architects, engineers, and consultants these projects rely on. Being that close to their work taught me even more about how it functions, where the pressures live, and how much of a project’s success comes down to how well those pieces fit together. It also gave me deep respect for what each of them does.

Then, for the last several years, I led operations for a custom home builder, where I came to understand construction from a different seat: how a project is estimated, scoped, and managed, and where the handoff between what’s designed and what’s built can be strengthened and streamlined.

Each of these experiences taught me to see a project holistically. I can anticipate what the people on your team need and the questions they’ll ask. And I hold the parts of the project that live between roles, the ones that were never any single person’s job to carry.

The more of this work I did, the more one thing stood out to me. Homeowners need support connecting their team and navigating the process as a whole. And I saw how naturally my experience fits that need. That’s why I built Saxum: to be a grounding presence beside the homeowner through the entire duration of their project, making it feel less like a weight to carry and more like the lovely and exciting journey they hoped for while building their dream home.
